Dolce and Gabbana
Dolce and Gabbana, founded by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, is probably one of the world’s top ten designers. They have received immense recognition and success over the years, and have designed for Hollywood stars and celebrities, including Madonna. Domenico Dolce was born in Polizzi Generosa, Italy, while Stefano Gabbana was born in Venice. While Dolce studied fashion in school, Gabbana was educated in graphic design. They encountered one another in Venice, as they were working in the same atelier. They decided to work with one another and do freelance fashion designing, and within two years, had already begun business together. By 1986, they had already introduced their first collection together, and soon after, opened their first boutique in Milan, Italy. In 2005, they finally decided to split up, but they announced that regardless of the separation, they would continue to work together. Dolce and Gabbana has two main lines, D&G, and Dolce and Gabbana. D&G is less formal in comparision with Dolce and Gabbana, and is also more affordable and trend-setting. Dolce and Gabbana is rather consistent and more sophisticated; it is the epitome of timeless luxury. Both of these lines consist of clothing, beachwear, sunglasses as well as eyewear, and fragrances. Dolce and Gabbana handbags are also manufactured, although they are not as popular as the clothing line. There is also a third line, which is only directed for children under 13, and is called D&G Junior. This line follows recent trends much more than the two lines for adults, and is marketed for young children of all ages. Dolce and Gabbana’s colognes include: Dolce and Gabbana Pour Homme, and D&G Masculine. The perfumes include: Light Blue, Pour Femme, D&G Feminine, and Sicily. Light Blue, an irresistably fresh fragrance for women, has become extremely popular amongst teens and young women. Dolce & Gabbana eyewear or Dolce and Gabbana sunglasses offer a variety of different styles and colors, for both men and women. Dolce and Gabbana clothing and Dolce and Gabbana dresses embody sophistication, beauty, and charm; while the true essence of the designs never change, they evolve as culture evolves, keeping up with trends and contemporary fashion.
