His career has spanned several decades, and evil now, in the 21st century, he is regarded as one of the greatest Italian designers of all time. Giorgio Armani’s designs began with lines in clothing and suits for women, and have now extended to lines in eyewear, jewelry, watches, accessories, and even cosmetics. Around 1970, Giorgio Armani began working as a freelance fashion designer for different companies, and by 1974, his first collection made a huge success, as he was highly praised and recognized for his creative talents. Four years later, in 1978, Le Collezioni was launched in both the United States and Canada . In 1980, Giorgio Armani fragrances and parfums were created. In 1981, the first Emporio Armani store opened in Milan , Italy , and that same year, Armani Junior was launched. A year later, the first boutique was opened in Milan , and Armani appeared on the cover of Time magazine and was highly credited as a top fashion designer, along with Christian Dior. In 1983, Armani launched Armani for Men, a fragrance for men which blended citric scents with woody scents. Giorgio Armani sunglasses or eyewear, also known as Giorgio Armani Occhiali, was launched in 1987. In 1996, Giorgio Armani’s Classico collection was launched, bringing classic styles for both men and women. Giorgio Armani clothing and Armani suits exemplify classic tailoring with the combination of elegance, poise, and charm. Among his clothing line are collections such as Le Collezioni, Classico, Emporio Armani, Armani Exchange, Armani Case, and Armani Junior. Giorgio Armani fragrances includes a line for men and for women as well, including: Prive, Armani code, Acqua di gio for men and women as well, Armani mania, Armani eau pour home, Emporio Armani for him, Armani Mania Women, and sensi.
