Gucci was founded in 1921 by Guccio Gucci in Florence, Italy. Initially, the company was a leather goods company, and only a small family business, rather than the big company it is today. Soon enough, Guccio Gucci’s business expanded, as his four sons began working for him. In the mid 80’s, Aldo was convicted of tax evasion, and Gucci was all over headlines, but not for merely its designs. When Rodolfo passed away, he left his 50% share in the company to his son, Maurizio Gucci, who, fortunately, decided to amend the family reputation. He partnered up with Aldo’s son, Paulo, and together, they took control of all the business affairs. The family finally decided to leave the company and put it in the charge of one man, so that further disputes would not tear up the family or diminish the reputation of the company. With their help, Gucci was at the pinnacle of success in the 60’s and the 70’s, and Gucci still continues today as one of the top fashion designs in the fashion industry.
