Salvatore Ferragamo

Salvatore Ferragamo has distinguished himself as a unique designer of shoes, bags, accessories, eyewear, colognes, and perfumes. With his innovative, imaginative, and somewhat radically strange style, Salvatore Ferragamo has become an icon of unconventional fashion. In 1938, he created the wedge, followed by interesting shoes in 1942 made of materials like cork and raffia. In 1947, Ferragamo won an award, the “Neiman Marcus Award” for his “invisible” sandle, which was a very big achievement. 1948 marked the year the first Salvatore Ferragamo store was established, on Park Avenue in New York . In 1949, the first Salvatore Ferragamo bag was created. In 1951, the “kimo” sandle was introduced, featuring a unique type of sock. In 1956, one of Ferragamo’s infamous inventions was introduced, the “cage” heel. By the time it was 1960, Ferragamo had achieved so much success and brought upon so much attention to his innovative designs, that he was credited in newspapers as the top designer in Italy for footwear. In 1978, the “Vara” was invented by Salvatore’s first daughter. The men’s line in clothing and shoes began in the 1970’s, and later on, Ferragamo would continue to extend the men’s line to even colognes. In 1995, the “Gancino” bag was created, made out of plexiglass. Salvatore Ferragamo is very well known for his exceptionally unique and eccentric designs; throughout the decades, Ferragamo designs have far exceeded those of other designers in shape, form, color, and combination, and can easily be distinguished, because they are truly like nothing else. Much of the Ferragamo bags and handbags are made of unique materials and are very smooth, refined and classic. Among them are the two handled flap duffle bag in brown sharkskin, the two gusset briefcase with inner pc compartment in shiny centered ambra alligator, the tabak colour ostrich hide tote, the light brown printed calfskin pc case, the messenger bag in printed black calfskin, and the jade green suede hobo with external pockets. The colors and shapes of Ferragamo handbags are very subtle and refined, making them all the more beautiful. Ferragamo colognes include Incanto pour Homme Essential, Incanto pour Homme, Subtil pour Homme, and Pour Homme.
