Versace

Versace, also known as Gianni Versace S.p.A., was founded by Giovanni Versace in 1978. Giovanni, more commonly known as Gianni Versace, was a very accomplished fashion designer, who was inspired and influenced by modern and abstract art. Although he considered himself to be more of a tailor than a designer, he had immense talent in his creative efforts as a designer; he loved to create sexy, skin-tight, and lavish pieces for women, all of which were flashy and attention-grabbing, without stepping over the boundary into trashy and skimpy clothing. Upon the death of Gianno Versace, his sister Donatella Versace took over and became the vice president of the company, and later changed her title to creative director. Santo Versace became the C.E.O of the company, but Donatella continued to hold most of the control of the company’s assets. Versace has lines in clothing, accessories, makeup, fragrance, and even home furnishings. The Versace products are manufactured under many diverse brand names. The Versace Group consists of several lines, including Gianni Versace Couture, Versace Collection, Versace Jeans Couture, Versus, Versace Ceramic Designs, Versace Sport, but Gianni Versace Couture is probably the most important and main line of the company. Versace luxury clothing and Versace dresses, most especially couture dresses, may cost up to $10,000. Many of the Versace accessories and home furnishings have the logo of the picture of Medusa or the Greek Key design. Versace does not only consist of luxury clothing however, for Versace Jeans Couture is a line specifically for casual clothing such as jeans and printed shirts. The Versace Collection, the Versace Sport, and Versace Jeans Couture are all intended and addressed to a younger demographic. Versace sunglasses are also very popular, and bare the famous Versace logo. Versace sunglasses include simple yet elegant black shades, all the way up to lavish and flashy shades decked in gold and crystals. Versace fragrances include: Versace Crystal Noir, Versace Woman, Versace Man, The Dreamer, Essence, V/S by Versace, Versace L’Homme, Ethereal, Bright Crystal, Versace Jeans Couture Man, Versace Jeans Couture Glam, Versace Metal Jeans Woman, Versace Red Jeans, Versace Man Eeu Fraiche, and Versace Time to Relax.
